Description Brewing Tips   Matcha is a very healthy way to consume green tea. It is grown by shading the tea plant in its final days before harvesting, which brings out a wonderful sweetness not found in other Japanese greens. The harvested leaves (tencha) are then processed so the stems and veins of the leaf are removed, then stone ground to a very fine powder. Traditionally, the beverage is made by adding a rounded teaspoon of matcha into 3-5 ounces of hot water and whisking the matcha into a light froth. Some believe matcha is the best way to obtain the health benefits of tea, as one consumes the entire leaf, as opposed to merely drinking an infusion. Our matcha is sold in vacuum packed 20g containers.
